A few years ago, I decided that now it was “my time” to act. I’d originally studied history, had been bringing up our son and working in my husband’s company. Now, I want to build my own new professional future.  So, I began studying international business which includes an exchange study program, I took my chances and came here. It’s not always easy, juggling my studies with still being a mother. Sure, my husband handles our kid there now, but “mother´s duties” are always with me, so that’s why when my son’s school suddenly phones, I have to leave class and deal with it.

Now, I want to build my own new professional future.

Here in Switzerland I found many interesting courses although this did mean daily commuting between campuses Brugg and Olten. Being in different groups for each course was complicated for my adaptation process, but these were good challenges – it allows you to test and explore what you’re capable of in a different environment. The International Week at the start of the semester was truly valuable for me.  When everything and everyone is new, it helps to feel welcome and get an orientation. Psychologically, this week and the people organising it helped me so much.  However, despite this orientation, in the first weeks I would get up at 5 a.m. so I would have enough time to find the right room.
