AltDeploy provides a unified, cloud-independent approach to deploy Three-tier applications on heterogeneous infrastructure platforms.

Initial situation

InnoPeak, a financial advisory software vendor, offers a product called Finly. It is deployed as isolated instances for each broker. Each broker can choose their preferred cloud provider, yet InnoPeak’s current pipeline is bound to DigitalOcean and lacks the flexibility to accommodate other platforms. The existing setup is coupled to a single provider (DigitalOcean) and includes manual approval steps.

Problem statement / Project goal

The current provider-specific deployment workflow is not scalable and limits InnoPeak’s ability to serve a growing and diverse broker base. Manual steps slow down the deployment process, and tight coupling to DigitalOcean increases migration costs. The goal of this project is to design and implement AltDeploy, a deployment tool that abstracts provider-specific logic and automates provisioning across multiple environments, while maintaining security, scalability, and modularity.

The above images showcase how AltDeploy performs a deployment on Azure. The secret keys provided in the AltDeploy output image are ephermal and automatically regenerated for each deployment, ensuring that they cannot be reused or exploited.

Solution developed and its benefits

The developed solution, AltDeploy, is a modular, cloud-agnostic CLI deployment tool designed to simplify the deployment process for a Three-tier application. By introducing a declarative configuration format and a structured abstraction layer, AltDeploy decouples deployment logic from provider-specific details. It supports multiple execution environments including Azure, DigitalOcean, Docker, and remote Linux hosts. The tool automates the entire deployment workflow - from resource provisioning to container orchestration - while maintaining version control, secure secret management and reproducibility. This results in faster onboarding of new clients, reduced operational overhead and the ability to scale across diverse infrastructures without vendor lock-in.
