Objective

The objective is to transform EuroTube's existing KPI model, which calculates physical indicators, into a unified SQL-based framework. Furthermore, an interactive dashboard is developed for real-time KPI visualisation and parameter manipulation, with the aim of supporting decision-making and stakeholder communication.

Initial situation

EuroTube, a Swiss non-profit research organisation, is dedicated to the advancement of Hyperloop technology. The current KPI models operate within discrete frameworks, which constrains the capacity for rapid adaptation to parameter changes and the efficient visualisation of variables. This fragmentation impedes the accessibility and usability of the data for a broader audience within the organisation, thereby making it more difficult for effective communication with stakeholders.

Results

The developed dashboard represents a significant advance in EuroTubes capacity to visualise and analyse Hyperloop performance metrics. Through the continuous collaboration with the stakeholders and end users, enhancements to the product could be implemented in a manner that would be most beneficial to them. The dashboard enables engineers at EuroTube to rapidly ascertain the merits of a given configuration or research idea, thus facilitating informed decision-making regarding future resource allocation. Furthermore, the straightforward design and user-friendly functionality facilitate comprehension of the system and its parameters among a more diverse audience, including non-technical team members. While there are aspects that require further development, the positive feedback and robust design provide a solid foundation for future enhancements and expansions.
