Roam Network - Community-Driven Network Transformation

Image of our Project
Summary

Roam Network is transforming the mobile network landscape by enabling users to share real-time network performance data and earn rewards through blockchain technology in their app.

Keywords

Kotlin, Android, Database, Design Patterns, Providers, Gamification

Goal

The aim was to find out what motivates the user most to use the app in the long term in order to increase the number of users of the Roam app. Furthermore, the goal was to find out how to make the app motivating enough so that the user opens and uses the app more often.

Initial Situation

The starting point was a freshly released app with 3 screens Home, Points History and Data Screen and the Settings. These screens already worked. We then first had to find a task for the project and decided on a better user experience and more utility of the app for the users.

Results

The result was formed based on usability tests and discussions with customers and supervisors. Two different prototypes were developed. The Porvider prototype, which should bring more benefit to users by providing provider suggestions depending on the location of the user like his home or time periods like all the data from the last two weeks. The Roamgochi prototype was intended to be a gamified approach that is more suitable for a younger target group and should entertain users to use the app more often. The Roamgochi is a monster which needs data to survive and can level up and get new skins. Besides that we added a Cryptocurrencyscreen to provide even more motivation. We found out because of diverse Testings that money is the biggest motivational factor and would benefit Roam a lot. Our screen shows the future Roamcoins which can be send to another Target for trading or withdrawning in another app.
