Goal

To ensure better developer experience and easier integration, the objective in this project was to translate the response into an appropriate JSON format following an alternative to the OJP-Service called Transport-API which already provides information in a JSON format.

Initial situation

Currently SKI+ (Systemaufgaben Kundeninformation) offers an API for all relevant public transportation information which returns information in XML format called OJP. Requests are writte in the OJP format following the internationl standard of TRIAS for international data exchange on public transportation. To create a better developer experience response shall now be formated in JSON following another Third party API for public transportation calles Transport-API.

Result

As part of the project, a proxy service called "OJP-Proxy" was developed using the .NET Core framework and documented with Swagger. Additionally, an interactive documentation tool named "OJP-Explorer" was created using the Vue.js framework, following user-centered design principles. This resulted in a transparent and reliable tech stack for the proxy, along with clear and user-friendly documentation, validated through user testing and the System Usability Scale (SUS).
