Clean Energy Exchange aims to provide a platform where users can purchase electricity from private producers.
Angular, Django, MySQL
The overall goal of the project is to create a marketplace that allows consumers to buy electricity directly from private producers. A hi-fi prototype and an initial implementation of the selling and buying process have been created. The goal of the work is to extend the current implementation and to add further features to the envisioned marketplace. The main new envisioned features should make the users feel a sense of community. Those features could include feedback mechanisms and communication channels. Furthermore, existing features, such as the sale and purchase of electricity, and the dashboard that displays relevant information to various types of users, need to be extended.
Presently, consumers possess the freedom to select their preferred electricity type, be it nuclear or green energy. Moreover, a considerable number of households generate their own electricity—leveraging technologies like rooftop photovoltaic systems. When excess energy is generated, opportunities often arise for its sale and integration into the grid. In light of this situation, it's apparent that neighbors and fellow community members may have an interest in purchasing this surplus energy. However, despite this potential, a viable solution for such scenarios has not yet emerged.
The application was further developed during this IP5 project. The responsive design was implemented so that the application may be used on mobile devices. Additionally, a versatile chat and feedback feature was implemented in the frontend. These community features will aid in providing the software with continuous improvement through frequent feedbacks and user involvement. Our results were validated through usability tests.
