Initial Situation/Problem statement

Our client Michael Jost runs a transport company that offers various services such as relocation, storage, waste disposal and recycling. In our project we focus on the waste disposal services. The dispatchers manually enter each job into the Comatic CRM and try to schedule it as efficiently as possible. This is a time-consuming and stressful task that demands much previous knowledge. This means that dispatchers have little or no time to carry out additional activities such as sales and phone consultations.

Project Goal

The goal of the project is to reduce the workload of the scheduling department and to simplify and automate the process of manually assigning driving jobs to truck drivers. This improvement is expected to save up to 20% of the working time of a dispatcher. In addition, the optimization of the assignment process should allow for more driving jobs per day per driver.

Developed Solution and its benefit

Our solution simplifies the workday for drivers and dispatchers with its two main components: a Spring Boot Rest API and an easy-to-use management interface. At the heart of the system is the API, quietly working in the background to ensure real-time, dynamic job assignments are delivered directly to the driver's tablet as soon as they finish their current job. Meanwhile, the management front-end provides straightforward setup options and the ability to test the system before going live. The front-end, coupled with the simulation feature, ensures a seamless transition to full operation, guaranteeing everything works perfectly from the outset. The solution offers clear benefits to:
