Live Online Courses

An online learning platform that provides a diverse range of live courses for learners of all levels, featuring a user-friendly webpage where students can easily discover and enroll in courses on various subjects.

Initial Situation/Problem statement

The digital online teaching platform wowclass.ch aims to connect learners and experts. High-quality instruction takes place in a live online environment, with content tailored to the learners. The existing prototype is currently hosted on a WordPress solution. While the current range of services and user volume is manageable, there's a need for a new custom-built solution to better tailor the platform to user needs. The existing WordPress solution is not scalable, and the processes for onboarding, booking, and follow-up are not efficiently implemented.

Project Goal

Our poject goal is to develop a scalable teaching platform with streamlined processes. Users will have the ability to navigate through a course listing, using search and filter options, and enroll in the courses of their choice. Teachers will have the ability to create and manage their own courses. These courses can be personalized one-on-one sessions or a more traditional classrom approach.

Developed Solution and its benefit

We have developed a web application using Next.js for the frontend and PHP Laravel for the backend. This choice of technology has enabled us to build a scalable web application while leveraging frameworks that we are proficient in. The platform allows teachers to create and manage their courses, and users to enroll in them. To ensure the quality of courses, only certified teachers are permitted to create a course. As a result, we have implemented a registration and certification process. Users have the ability to upload their teaching certifications, which are then reviewed by an admin to determine whether the applicant is eligible to create courses.

For Users

• Registration, Login and edit their Profile
• Search and Filter through available courses
• Enroll in a course
• Request to become a teacher

For Teachers

• View, Create and Edit a course
• Plan their lessons inside the course
• Interact with the students
• Request a new category for their course

For Admins

• Manage all accounts, courses and categories
• Approve or Decline the teacher request of a users
• Approve or Decline a new category request of a teacher
