«The aim of this workshop is to question the ambiguous nature of photographs. Images claim to accurately represent reality, but in reality they translate an interpretation. The arbitrary choice of framing and the two-dimensional restitution are proof of this. Considering photographs as sensitive surfaces of different formats, the exercise proposes to reflect on the notion of scale, as an architectural convention that allows different elements of a project to be measured, arranged and viewed.
In fact photographs reduce or enlarge what they represent. Each student will have to test this double process in images, focusing on the perception of ordinary everyday space ‹from small to big› and ‘‹from big to small›.»
